New three-story office building created to become the headquarters of The Palo Alto Weekly. Built on the former site of the Palo Alto Class Co., the aluminum and glass-paneled office was designed to be a model for green building design and construction and was the first major office project in Palo Alto to be certified LEED Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council. The project achieved the Gold-level certification due to green design and construction features that substantially reduced energy and water use, utilized local and sustainable building materials, and provided amenities for employees that make for a healthier and more comfortable work environment.
